Department of Paper Preservation
H.L.A.K.'s primary objectives are to collect, maintain, study and publish any archival material about the historical evolution and development of Kavala and the wider region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The Department of Paper Preservation started its experimental operation at the beginning of 1998. Currently, its services are offered free of charge and are limited to the preservation of unbound documents and newspapers regardless of their owner, as long as it is worthy to be preserved.
The section of book preservation will function properly as long as there are available funds for the supply of all necessary mechanical equipment and materials. The offer of these services is truly valuable and we are grateful that, despite our insufficient means, we can still provide them free of charge.
