Department of Studies & Research (Research Centre)
The Department of Studies & Research (Research Centre) works on the study of all kinds of local and foreign archives, as well as H.L.A.K.'s itself. It continuously records evidence of known and unknown historical events of the extended area of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The detailed activities of this Department are:
- Persistent reserch at local and foreign sources for the continuous enrichment of the Archives with new material.
- Overall study of H.L.A.K.'s numerous archives.
- Extraction of new information from the archival material.
- Writing of reports based on archival evidence.
- Collection, recording and preservation of oral testimonies about important events of the history of our region.
- Collection, recording and preservation of folklore data of our region, such as sayings, fairytales and all kinds of customs.
